Energizing or sleepy?
Mostly energizing. Leafly places Candyland on the energizing side of its calming-to-energizing scale, energetic is second in both Leafly’s and Weedmaps’ lists of reported effects, and Leafly’s list of the 100 best strains pairs it with conversation and art.1,2,3 Relaxation still shows up: it is the third most-reported effect on Weedmaps and one of AllBud’s five.2,4 Its parent Granddaddy Purple sits at the other end of Leafly’s scale, with sleepy as its top effect (see Candyland vs Granddaddy Purple).7
Why two batches can feel different
Potency alone varies widely: one in ten lab-tested batches came in under 16.65% THC and one in ten above 27.39%, and Michigan’s median (16.87%) sits well below Washington’s (21.30%).8 The name also covers different plants: three breeders’ seed versions, regular and feminized, and Leafly notes that the strain can exhibit many different indica phenotypes (see genetics).1,5,6,9,10
